GET TO KNOW ME

I am a clinical psychologist with a primary focus on women and adolescent girls. My goal is to provide a safe, trusting, and caring environment for each of my clients. I am compassionate and encouraging and know that sometimes people need to be challenged in order to take the risks that facilitate change.

I have advanced training in perinatal mental health and have a particular interest in working with women who are contemplating parenthood, trying to conceive, are pregnant, or are adjusting to postpartum life. Additionally, I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem, disordered eating, trauma, relational conflict, sexuality, and general life adjustment difficulties.

I have over a decade of experience working in private practice, community mental health, college counseling, psychological testing, and forensic facilities. During that time I've learned that therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individual. I work collaboratively with my clients using an approach that focuses on growth and empowerment by reinforcing strengths, building confidence, and developing skills.

My style of therapy is integrative, blending many therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each individual client. Sessions may consist of open-ended talk therapy or may be more structured and skills based. I combine feminist and relational therapy with behavioral medicine techniques. Psychotherapy methods and techniques that I often use include, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), positive psychology, stress managementmindfulness, and hypnosis.

My practice is diverse and culturally sensitive and I treat individuals of different cultures, ethnicities, and races. I go by the pronouns she/her/hers and I have extensive experience working with members of the LGBTQ community and their families.
